HISTORY:
Newman bible academy international was founded in 1985 by prof. Willis c. Newman a quest lecturer for international school of theology – USA, Asia and Africa.
Newman Ekan bible academy-Nigeria was founded in 2014 through the cooperative work of REV. Malia Isaac Odah from Nigeria, representing prof. Willis .c. Newman the international director, Newman ministries international from America and Ekklisiyar Kristi A Nigeria (EKAN). This agreement is reflected in the MOU signed by REV. Malia Isaac Odah for Newman and Elder (Dr) Philemon saredou for EKAN dated 11th july 2014 (copy attached).
The private religious school is entirely dependent upon the prayers and financial support of the Christian community.
Purpose:
Newman bible academy-Nigeria was called into existence, we believe by the Holy Spirit, and has the following objectives among others:-
1. To provide a place where Christian people can have the opportunity to secure a Christian training / Education at an Interdenominational school in preparation for life, ministry and work.
2. To provide a centre of high-quality biblical, theological and applied ministries studies for those called to full time Christian service to receive a practical and balanced bible school training.
3. To provide an Interdenominational school with the commitment to serve the greater Christian community.
MISSION STATEMENT
Newman EKAN bible academy exists to glorify God by equipping Christian leaders with a biblical, theological and practical education empowering them to apply and proclaim the inerrant word of God for world-wide Christian.
ACCREDITATION
Newman EKAN bible academy, presently does not have accreditation with the government of Nigeria. It is endorsed by Newman ministries international (America). It has an affiliation with faith evangelical college and seminary (America).
OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES:
In accomplishing it’s goals, the Newman EKAN Academy strives to complete the following objectives among others;-
i. To assit each student to understand his personal scriptural relationship and responsibility to God and his fellowman.
ii. To give the student a good understanding of bible doctrine, including the distinctive
Evangelical beliefs.
iii. To give the student a working knowledge of both the old and New Testament.
iv. To teach the students to control personal emotions through the power of the Holy Spirit
based on biblical theology rather than experiential theology.
v. To channel the development of each student’s character through basic Christian principles.

COURSE OF STUDY
Each course, out of 20 courses, is designed to be completed in 10 weeks. However, more time may be permitted upon request. The courses may be taken in any order one wishes, but TH101-Christian Foundation is advised to be taken first.
Each course is designed to give 3 credits when completed. one credit involves approximately 10 hours of institutional Study. Consequently, 3 credits (one course) represent about 30 hours of direct interaction with the content of the courses.
Interaction includes readings, taking the examinations, research and any other assignments required for the course. This method is based on the American quarter system of education.

Newman EKAN Academy is located on No. 1 Mission Road, Off Hamanruwa Way within the EKAN National Secretariat Jalingo - Taraba State Nigeria.
UPDATES
Presently the school enrolled seventeen (17) students for certificate, Diploma, Degree and Master programmes since its inception in September, 2014.
We candidly request the Seminary on behalf of the Board of Governors of the Newman EKAN Academy and the Ekklisiyar Kristi A Nigeria (EKAN) to affiliate Newman EKAN Academy wiht the Seminary please.
